Just a few of our favourites:

Ty Glyn Trust Walled Gardens – less than a mile walk from our small-holding here you’ll find a lovely walled garden and short river walk.

Llanerchaeron (National Trust) located a mile from our small-holding and four miles from Aberaeron. The mansion house and grounds, designed by John Nash of Buckingham Palace and Regency London fame, are well worth a visit. There are also lovely woodland and river walks over the bridge from the car park and a cosy cafe serving local produce (Conti’s ice cream is definitely worth a try).

Aberaeron – a picturesque Georgian harbour town. We recommend the Harbourmaster for a drink on the harbour wall (followed by dinner in either the bar or restaurant). The Hive on the Quay is also a good option for lunch or dinner and their honey ice-cream is a must! The Celtic Restaurant serves the most popular fish and chips in the area. There is a pebble beach in Aberaeron where you can pick up the Ceredigion Coastal Path for beautiful walks and stunning scenery. River and Cycle path along the old railway line into Aberaeron – park at the end of the cycle path past the Llanerchaeron car park and walk along the river into Aberaeron (about two miles).

Beaches – all of the beaches in the area have something different to offer:

Penbryn – a spectacular mile-long sandy beach

Tresaith – for a pub lunch overlooking a sheltered sandy beach

New Quay – famous for dolphin spotting. Good selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Grab coffee and cake from the Blue Bell Bistro, dine at The Pepper Pot or pick up some fish and chips from The Lime Crab then sit on the harbour and look out for dolphins. Many boat trips (dolphin spotting & sea fishing) leave from here.

Cei Bach – lovely for a tranquil walk along the beach at low tide.

Llangrannog – a good all-rounder (sandy beach, coastal walks as well as a cafe and pub)

Mwnt – stunning scenery, sandy beach, kiosk and beautiful cliff top church. Pay and display parking (National Trust).
